Episode Style

Entertain your subscribers and keep them excited as they await your next email. Kind of like… Seinfeld!

Consider 3 approaches:

  • Story-based educational coaching: Unlike traditional educational emails, these emails are meant to include a story, be less serious, and can be witty and even humorous.
  • What occurred today? Talk about details from your daily routine. Your customers should feel as if they’ve known you for a long time.
  • Controversial email: Lead with a controversial topic or statement, and share your thoughts on it.

Make sure you mention your product or service here and there, so they can take advantage of it. And ideally, try to relate your story closely to your product’s benefit and/or the reason they subscribed to your list.

Educational Style

Offer value to your subscribers by educating them on a single topic.

Consider:

  • How To Email: Show readers how to do something. Ensure it’s related to the reason they joined your mailing list.
  • Checklists: Share lists of things your readers should do to accomplish their goals, and in what order.
  • Q&A: Ask your readers questions about your products and brand, and how it can be improved.
  • FAQ: Answer popular questions asked by subscribers.

Make sure you mention your product or service here and there, so they can take advantage of it. And ideally, try to relate your story closely to your product’s benefit and/or the reason they subscribed to your list.

Epiphany Style

Help your subscribers have an “aha” moment.

Consider:

  • Inspirational stories
  • Novel ideas they can put into action
  • Thought-provoking or enlightening concepts
  • Challenge existing societal beliefs (what do you know or believe that others don’t)

Make sure you mention your product or service here and there, so they can take advantage of it. And ideally, try to relate your story closely to your product’s benefit and/or the reason they subscribed to your list.
